Best Buy is Ending DVD and Blu-Ray Sales

You can click on the image and/or headline above to get all of the details, but it appears that we’re losing another outlet for purchasing physical media.

I’m sure that sales of DVDs and Blu-Rays have drastically decreased over the last several years coinciding with the rise of streaming, so this is probably a business decision that they are forced to make. But, I hate the thought of having one less place to make my purchases from.

I typically pick up my physical media from either Amazon or Movies Unlimited, but I like having options. Sometimes you can find things at one store and not at another. And make no mistake, I’m in the camp that thinks owning physical media is the way to go.

In this current age of streaming, titles come and go, and the only way to know that you’ll have access to what you want to see or hear is to own a physical copy of it. My DVD and Blu-Ray collection now sits at over 1000 titles because of this. Now I just have to hope that I can continue to find the players needed to watch those titles again in the years to come.
